Jazz in the Church

St. John’s | Knutsford | Friday 02.09 | 19:00 | Bring your own drinks

Adrian Cox

Jazz in the Church is back for the first time since December 2019. After some hugely popular shows in Alsager we are coming to Knutsford, and we will be presenting the wonderful and charismatic Saxophonist, Clarinetist and vocals of Adrian Cox. He will be backed by the piano playing of Tom Kincaid, Bass player Andy Crowdy & Jack Cotterill at the drums.

Adrian was nominated for Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year (Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2021) and his latest duo album release featuring pianist Joe Webb has received rave reviews. In 2018, Adrian was invited to perform with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at London’s famous Barbican Centre, playing the music from the Benny Goodman 1938 Carnegie Hall concert. Cox then went on to perform in New York at the gala concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Lincoln Centre, and was amongst guests including the great Tony Bennett. Adrian has the ability to engage with his audience both on and off-stage, with an unrivalled feel for the music he plays, which combined with his virtuosic technique has lead to wide critical acclaim.

“Touches the other world that all musicians aspire to” Cerys Matthews (BBC6 Music/BBC Radio2)
